Safaris aren’t something our founder discovered later in life. He was raised on it.
Jono grew up in South Africa. In February 2003, he met his wife, Danica, while guiding her on safari. In 2009, they built Encompass Africa – not because it was a good business idea, but because Africa had shaped them both before they had words for it.
When you travel with us, that is what you are getting. Not a consultant who researched your destination. Someone who belongs to it.
Our journey to Africa left a deep impression on all of us. We wanted our daughter to know how others lived, and to literally look extinction in the eyes – to feel the breath of an animal that may not exist much longer and understand the importance of conservation and caring for the natural world.
