Wildlife safari land and water
This beautiful national park boasts the most picturesque riverside setting, along with all its associated wildlife, from large elephant and buffalo herds to abundant hippo and birdlife. The landscapes are diverse with woodland savannahs, riverine forests, broad floodplains and hills that form the Zambezi escarpment.
Wildlife congregates near the river in the dry season and visitors are privileged with daily sightings of large, majestic elephants in vast numbers as they criss cross back and forth across the river. Big cat numbers are healthy here too, particularly lion and leopard. The elusive packs of wild dog are also known to traverse these landscapes.
The highlight here is the diversity of activities, from the traditional 4x4 game drives, walking safaris, canoeing safaris, fishing and boating. There’s nothing more spectacular than soaking up a famous African sunset overlooking or cruising down the Zambezi river.
