A glittering cluster of 5 tropical islands
Benguerra and Bazaruto are the largest two islands. Both feature luxurious accommodation where you can easily spend a week getting into the rhythm of this slow paced island life: swim, snorkel, eat and sleep. In the 1970s the Bazaruto National Park was created to protect the marine life. Two Mile Reef within the national park is world renowned for scuba-diving and snorkeling. Fishing excursions are also popular with giant trevally, sailfish and marlin regularly reeled in. The Bazaruto Archipelago has become one of Africa’s hippest beach destinations and yet remains relatively untouched due to the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism. Only a handful of lodges have been built on remote beaches to ensure guests can enjoy barefoot luxury untainted by development and mass tourism. Here you have nothing but long stretches of powdery sand under your feet, lapped by the warm Indian Ocean water.
Where you choose to stay depends on what you're looking for in your Bazaruto Archipelago holiday.
