The magic of Meru
This little-visited national park straddles the equator and is home to a great variety of habitats including scrubland dotted with baobab trees, lush green grasslands and riverine forests. Meru National Park is the perfect place to begin a Kenya safari. It was made famous to safari purists and enthusiasts by the 1966 film Born Free. There are two well established accommodation options in Meru. For those looking for a lodge with a great view we recommend Elsa's Kopje and if sleeping under canvas is your thing then Offbeat Meru Camp will tick all the right boxes.
Another great alternative is Rhino River Camp, located next door in its own private wildlife rich reserve.
