African Safari Testimonials

Our quality and success depends on listening to our customer feedback and responding to it. That’s how we evolve as a business and continue to provide the very best to ensure you an effortless African safari holiday.

We've done a bit of traveling over the years, but have never received  anything like the travel information you provided in our travel pack.  We're incredibly impressed with how comprehensive the information is.  The information you've provided helps take the stress out of the trip.  It's the little things that we tourists often have no idea about,  such as how much to tip, what sort of clothes etc to take.  Your information has provided all of that as well as a fantastic guide to each place we're visiting.  The travel agent industry could learn a lot from Encompass Africa! - Couple departing for African safari on 4th September 2010

Thank you so much for planning such a perfect trip to Kenya for the three of us.The animals, schools, orphanage, village, meals, accomodation etc etc were fantastic. My 83 year old mum had the time of her life and was treated like a queen! My sister said mum came back looking 10 years younger!

You asked us about our favourite part of the trip. I can't choose, Loldia House and Kicheche Camp were so different, equally excellent! We will certainly travel with Encompass Africa again! - Professional couple and retired mother on family safari June/July 2010.

Jono, we had an amazing time in the Selous Game Reserve, cant speak highly enough about it.

We had a magical two days at Lake Manze - experiences we will remember for a lifetime. Excellent service from host and guides (esp. Victor) we are sad to be leaving. Richard was a great host and very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, probably the best vegetarian food I have ever had.

We saw a leopard on the way back from the airport, and yes I did get to see the lions I so desperately wanted to see. First 7 of them were sleeping in the grass, then the next day the pride was in hunting mode, and an hour later we saw them up close with their wildebeest kill - absolutely amazing.

It was a great choice of yours, as it suited us, not too touristy and pretty low key, I would highly recommend it.

We did raise a glass or two for you watching the sunset... on a number of occasions!

Once again, thanks for all your help. Asante sana - Professional couple from Brisbane on Safari in August 2010

Elusive leopard

Hi Jono, what can I say – our African safari holiday was utterly amazing. Kenya in particular was exceptional in terms of the service, accommodation, transfer rep, hospitality of staff, knowledge of guides & quality of the gameviewing. Both Kiketche camps were fabulous - Kiketche Mara and Kiketche Bush Camp. The migration was tremendous also.

In South Africa, Cape Town in particular stood out in terms of beauty and vibrancy. All the accommodation booked was first class.

Thanks very much for organising, the whole trip exceeded both our expectations. I’ll definitely recommend you to any of my friends who are planning a trip to Africa. We definitely plan to go back again & hopefully this time will see the elusive Leopard. - Young holidaying couple from Sydney, travelled August 2010

Cape Town

Jonathon, you did a brilliant job on our Namibian Safari and we are definitely recommending Encompass Africa.

For our Namibian African Safari holiday, you suggested that we fly part of the trip and drive part of the trip which was great and enabled us to have the best of both worlds.  A number of other travellers we encountered were only flying from lodge to lodge and they were very interested in how our trip was structured and envious of our time driving through the country.

sera cafema

The flight from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund was truly an amazing experience.  It was a perfect day for flying and there was none of the normal fog on the coast flying at about 500 foot above sea level. The images of the sand dunes, their colours and the coast line will remain with us forever.  From the air we saw our lodge, the dune that we climbed the day before, Dead Vlei, Sossusvlei, deserted desert diamond towns, seals, jackals on the beach, shipwrecks, a whale, flamingo’s and  salt pans. The remoteness of the place was incredible.

Our stay at Serra Cafema was magical, again the remoteness and the journey added to the whole experience. Loved the land rover ride to the lodge.  There was this feeling of expectation which was fulfilled when we reached our destination.  The lodge was amazing, hidden in the undergrowth out of sight.  The force of the Kunene River had to be seen to be believed.  Truly an incredible place.

Kulala Desert Lodge was in an amazing location, the architecture of the lodge buildings was incredible and the room was great.  We loved The Stiltz with our huge cabin overlooking the estuary. The breakfast here was the best we encountered during our entire trip. Andersson’s Camp is a lovely rustic and comfortable lodge and we loved the feel of it.  Mushara Outpost's main lodge building was beautifully decorated with a more contemporary African feel. Our canvas tented cabin was also lovely.  The staff here was a cut above what we had experienced elsewhere.  They were very professional.  Our guide Geoffrey was very good and we had a interesting experience up close and personal with a bull elephant.

Okonjima Bush Camp was great, we loved the way the sides rolled up during the day. Our guide Alfred was fantastic, very personable and knowledgeable.  Alfred joined us and the other members of our land drover for dinner the first night.  Great idea.  The next night we were seated with other guests.  It was the first lodge that we stayed at that offered this service. I believe it added to our experience at Okinjima.

The Olive Grove Guest House was great.  Our first night there we went to Joes Beer Hall for dinner which was a fantastic experience.  For a Thursday night the place was packed to the rafters.  We were seated next to a couple of locals and had a great time.  The next time we stayed there we dined in and the food was very good.

Overall we had an amazing holiday.  Can’t thank you enough for organising it.- Professional couple holidaying July 2010, Peter & Jenny, Brisbane

What a great time we had!  The two drivers looked after us ever so well. We really loved the Serengeti and our stay at the  Serengeti Safari Camp there, a memory that will last a life time!

Thanks ever so much for organising everything for us. We had an awesome time and we will be sure to pass on our experience to others and send them your way. - Tanzania honeymooners June 2010, Michael & Anna, Sydney

"Serengeti Safari Camp opitimised everything I had imagined about Africa, It was a "life" experience, wonderful and unforgettable.

Could not fault any of the lodgings/hotels. All were exceptional and offered great facilities and service.

Jono, I keep telling people what a great trip this was and how I had a fantastic travel agent plan this trip. I have convinced my wife that we are going back to Africa - Thank you so much." - First time visitor to Africa, Sydney May 2010

Serengeti Safari Camp

Totally, totally different to anything else I have ever experienced. Entire solitude from the norm. Wonderfully, magical experience.

The Rovos Rail Train trip was also an incredible "non matchable" experience. I would not hesitate to recommend any of the places I stayed. - A single lady traveller, Sydney May 2010.

The Rovos Rail

The week on the beach at Barra, Mozambique was just what we needed - very relaxing and refreshing.  Barra Lodge was a good choice as everything was what we wanted - room, food, activities, etc.  I went on the Ocean Safari and swam with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays.  We also had a day in Inhambane, which is charming in a sleepy sort of way.

Maputo was fun - we went out to see live music, walked around the city and market and ate great seafood.

The Botswana safari was everything we wanted and more.  The camps were beautifully set up and they really looked after us (and everyone else.  We saw all the animals: leopard, cheetah, lions, etc.  We even saw a kill by a pack of wild dogs.  Of the 2 camps, we preferred Little Kwara - it had a more relaxed and easygoing atmosphere. No problem with Labala, just a little more formal and old fashioned in its service

Cape Town was a buzz.  We hired a car and drove around for the first couple of days.  Then we hired a guide for the wineries and had the last day walking and shopping.  The hotel was perfect - very helpful when we needed anything yet still relaxed and easy going.

So, all in all we had a great trip.  Thanks for all your help. -  A Melbourne family who on safari, May 2010

Botswana Safari Holiday

We had a fantastic time on Safari and saw most animals apart from the illusive leopard and rhino. Bateleur camp was amazing. Service and food was outsanding. Thanks for organising everything, it was superb. - Two work colleagues from Sydney in Africa for a conference, Safari May 2010

Well it's my 2nd day back at work after the holiday. Nicole and I had the best trip!! Everything ran so smoothly!

The Botswana safari in particular was great and I would strongly recommend anyone thinking of doing a Safari to go there. The Stanley Lodge at Victoria Falls was also great!

Thanks for all you help in organising the honeymoon...As I said it all ran extremely smoothly. Whenever we arrived at a new place there was always someone waiting there to drop us where we needed to be.

Thanks again,
A honeymoon couple from Canberra on Safari in May 2010

Victoria Falls

Yes we are back and had an absolutely amazing time.  Everything went really well – thank you so much for all of your help.

We particularly loved the Okavango Delta camps.  We were woken on our first night at Pom Pom by a hippo in the water right outside our tent, and on our first afternoon in Lebala Camp we got to chase the wild dogs on their hunt (and witnessed the kill), watched as a leopard devoured an impala up a tree whilst a hyena circled below waiting for scraps – amongst many other things!  Incredible!

We’ll definitely be recommending your services to family and friends as well.

Thanks again for everything – we are definitely two very satisfied customers!

Having a great time. Thanks so much for organising this trip. The guide I had today actually worked with Diane Fossey! - A single female traveller on African safari, from Brisbane Jan 2010

Just a quick note to say thank you for organising a fabulous safari holiday for us ! It was an incredible experience, all around the accommodation, service ,transportation, guides etc were all first class. In particular the Kicheche Camps were a holiday on their own! peaceful, lovely locations, wonderful hosts and staff, couldn’t be faulted in any way, the only complaint if any was too much wonderful food and we never saw a leopard! mind you we saw nearly everything else.

We are seriously thinking about doing it all again possibly Xmas/New Year, we will have no hesitation in going through you again, will let you know later in the year what we decide. Also we would have no second thoughts about recommending Encompass Africa to anyone, it was a holiday of a lifetime thanks to Encompass Africa!
Again many thanks - A retired couple on dream African safari, Sydney Jan 2010

We had a lovely time on our South Africa safari and are back home.

We are writing this to thank you for the arrangements that you made to make our trip enjoyable. Certainly, it was very enjoyable and had great time. The agents in South Africa side were punctual, very helpful and extremely organised. We were really impressed. There were no hiccups what so ever anywhere during the 3 weeks that we had spent. One of the internal flight was cancelled and you actioned and notified us of the reschedule in timely manner. Each and every individual that helped us getting around were courteous and friendly. I will certainly recommend you to my friends.

Jonny and I just wanted to thank you for all your help in organising our honeymoon safari extravaganza  to Zambia, South Africa and Mauritius in October this year.

From the start our interaction with Encompass Africa, via yourself Jono was extremely professional and informative and it was an extremely stress-free way of organising a holiday of a lifetime.  Your advice and guidance in terms of both places to visit, accommodation and logistics was invaluable. In particular we'd like to thank you for the kind words you put in with the bookings which lead to some pretty impressive upgrades in accommodation, both in Cape Town and Mauritius!  We both had the most amazing time and really enjoyed the combination of sightseeing, safari and beach that you helped us to put together. On reflection, there isn't anything that we would change!

Thank you once again for all your assistance.  We will definitely be back in touch to organise our next trip to Africa and will certainly recommend you to anyone thinking of doing a similar trip. - A Sydney honeymoon couple, Safari in Oct 2009
